Ikemi is the big item there - maybe £1,000 if you're lucky....many are advertised above that (mainly serviced ones) but mine was £800 not that long ago and most seem to sell for the 850-950 mark. £200 ish for the Majik Maybe £180 for the Katans ....so your £1500 total probably isn't too far out...

I'm currently using one of these mini Acoustic Research USB DACs in my first venture into streaming through my laptop into main system. Very noticeable improvement (compared to no DAC) and happily cost me under £100 with all goodies. Nice wee bit of kit, for my purposes anyway. :p

Yes this is what's drawing me into streaming more - listening to bands I've never heard of, mainly new ones, and some of their offerings are pretty good too! If I want a CD or record I'll still buy them though, probably. I'm up do date with my Larkin Poe collection now

What are folks source listening preferences nowadays, given that streaming is well and truly upon us? I've only recently started streaming regularly, still hopping from one 3 month free trial to another 😁 ....which I do through my laptop plus Acoustic Research USB DAC into regular amps...

Looks a good time to point out the real reason many of us old timers held onto vinyl all these years - much easier and more sociable to skin up on a 12" record sleeve than a CD case or streamer! 🕉️

Funnily enough my Sondek's just been dropped off with a capable enthusiast for a bit of TLC and pimping. It's an early one from mid 1970s which hasn't seen many modifications. In for new PSU, tone arm cable and mains lead pus a few other bits - not spending silly money though. Original...

I got a lamp which uses 18650 batts a couple of years ago - great wee setup and really bright - right up to the point the charger disintegrated and then one of the (very flimsy) wires detached at the business end of the lamp. Batts are excellent though 😁
