Mostly Suntour components, the things i always remember were there headset coming loose all the time, the huge gap between the rear wheel/tyre and seat tube and...

    Saddle repair

Maybe try a Charge, Spoon saddle in tan. Got fantastic reviews and only about £16-20 for the CroMo railed model and £45 for the Ti railed one. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/images/charge-s ... -4-col.jpg Might work out cheaper than recovering unless you "love" that saddle. Mr752

    Why no love for Cannondale?

I rode/raced my Proflex 752 from new (1992) as a XC bike with a spot of downhill here and there till 2000 when I bought a Proflex 856. Got to ride a few Cannondales and was always tempted, however yes I thought the ride was harsh and the headshocks were stiff. Definitely not an all day bike...

    Cycle insurance...

Try E & I (Equine & Livery) from York. I've insured bikes off and on with them, you can pay monthly and they have different levels of cover which allow you to take your bikes abroad for so many days a year. Think they do require you to DATA Tag your bike which isnt a bad idea. They're on the...

    The dreaded R*** word

I've used a product called KU-rust from Halfords, you clean any loose surface rust off then paint it on, it looks milky white, it then goes bluey black and the literature says thats it , the rust is stopped dead in its tracks! you can prime and then paint over it. Hope this helps. Mr752
