am i an idiot for wanting to bling up my 27.5" ti ht?

27.5 is still current Your frame isn't obsolete - it's just not what's being marketed much atm. It's a practical, usable mtb👍 Watch out changing from 150 to 100mm Forks though - as a rule 20mm variation is ok, but it's quite a while since much mtb frame geometry was happy with 100mm - probably...

    Recumbents?

Stats imply that the roads are safer than 10 or 20 years ago But quite a lot of vulnerable users have been driven off the roads - that might include recumbents. Trouble is, they are best on long gentle gradients, where the roads are straighter and faster and the risks to cyclists are greatest.

How to true Shimano ‘opposite lock’ wheels?

You can make a spoke wrench for these by grinding a slot in a piece of steel, or if the nipples aren't too seized, use a small adjustable. Often you need to reduce tension on one side while increasing on the other.

    Recumbents?

Ultimately, that did it for me. I've been tangled with motor vehicles maybe half a dozen times - im not sure any of those incidents would have been survivable on a recumbent. Getting doored? Head-on? Turning across you? Pulling in while alongside... All those sound lethal.

    Recumbents?

I've had a couple of short wheelbase recumbents i can remember, a king cycle and a flevo body turn, and a red thing i cant recall. The king was fun, but only cool to Beardy Wierdies...(🙈) https://www.recumbent.news/2021/03/02/the-godfather-of-recumbents/ The flevo was like wrestling with an...

    Shimano xtr

Hi Lee I think the 959 is a 10mm steel axle, which makes the solution easier. We have a drawer of shimano freehubs new and old and can almost always find something. First you want a visual match. Then check the fit is ok. Then you need to fit the freehub body onto the axle/cone&locknut...

    Midlands lightweight auction late Nov

How good do you think the paint is? I'll ask for a close-up as I'm tempted - mine doesn't have the chrome lugs🤔 This ought to be at least 600, but if closer inspection reveals its hammerite with a toothbrush, that might top it at 400 And we all know what a professional paint job like this would...

Anyone declaring eBay income to the HMRC?

If you're making enough money on ebay to attract hmrc, just pay the tax - your country needs you!😉 On a positive note, ebay's requirement for proof of identity makes ebay buyers a lot more trustworthy than Facebook marketplace - loads of our customers have been "cased" by Facebook users...
