Freewheel compatibility - and coolest freewheel questions

Can confirm that they work a treat: I have Shimano shifters on a 7 sp Campag block on my roadie. Campag dural freewheel - light and drool worthy, but hard to find anything much bigger than a 25t rear cog. One for sale on eBay (not mine)

Flat but grippy (to the ground) shoes recommendation.

Thanks Chaps - excellent leads there. I’d been mulling over fell running shoes, but the climbing approach thing is new to me and looks v. promising. 👍

    Cannondale M700 age - 1993?

93 looks right for the big details: 3.0 frame, Pepperoni, red. 93 catalogue link The serial number seems odd compared to Vintage Cannondale info: is there another under the BB? For differences in parts vs what is stated by year, I wouldn’t get too bothered. Through the year and depending...

Bike Fit, time to raise my bar position?

Yes, you can adapt a stretched out MTB with higher front and more forgiving bars. And if you are fond of a bike you’ve owned forever, it’s fun to persevere with. I went full dork with my Specialized below, but you can fine tune for what you need. Things to think about: Higher rise shorter reach...

Flat but grippy (to the ground) shoes recommendation.

So, my trusty old New Balance minimus shoes have had their day, and the abundance of choice and tech means I’m struggling to zone in on a good replacement (the latest NB won’t cut it). Any recommendations around the following requirements appreciated: For everyday riding: on road, off road...

VTT français? French MTBs / Components / Info / Pics etc.

If you’re digging on French goodies, watch out for some of the early MBKs. I had this 1987 (sadly too small) which had great tubing and was beautifully constructed: internally brazed and nice details. Very different from the gussetty welded later ones that often pop up.

For Sale Overbury’s (Andy Powell) custom fast tourer frameset for renovation. 600ex headset.

So, ‘medium’ to ‘tight’ I’d say: build it as a roadie not a gravel rig. Pics are with the rear in the middle of the dropout slots. 23mm tyres. Brake drop is c. 45 at the back, 50 at the front (middle of the hole to middle of the braking track, by eye with a metal ruler). Oh, and a 130mm hub...
