    Help identify 90’s MTB frame

yeah, quite a lot of those nickel-plated bikes do have those, some do have meanwhile even quite massive corrosion at the area around bottom bracket. I think a regular lacquering is providing a better protection. Still smaller spots can still be just on the upper surface and you should give it a...

    Help identify 90’s MTB frame

I can't provide a brand or model name, but maybe helping summarizing details. - It looks like a nickel-plated (often also called titanized or titan-finish) CroMo frame. Those had been offered by Marin, Scott, Diamond Back, Parkpre, Stevens, Maxx, CATs, Cycle Culture, Magni, Wheeler, Sunn...

    Frame identify

Google can do this for you It reads than better than the German version with a lot of spelling issues Just the pressed lugs are meant by the word "bushing", here was already the German version written pretty strange. so no wonder that the translation is now even more confusing. Not sure what's...

    Frame identify

yeah, it's indeed a bit strange having different names in German for many countries, still the spelling is corretc, but actually this advert was apparently very weak translated, so it's very funny to read in German

isn't this the Claud Butler Titanius frame (only 3 main tubes Titanium) also sold back in time from Praktiker hardware store chain in Germany or from Hawk and Minerva? https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/help-recognizing-a-minerva-frame.402658/post-3698265 or...

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

it's for Sugino-produced cranks, e.g. their own Impel etc. but also stuff they have done for others. Edit, also the Specialized Strongarm compact 5 arm have that layout, i think some other brands too, maybe all produced by Sugino.

    BMW

this is from roughly 2000 It's foldable by a quick release at the top of the seat tubes and and having a pivot point close to the BB. The pic here shows the full suspension of same generation, but the fold mechanism is same at the hard tail. Obviously key use case, to get it into the boot...

    Need Help With Fork ID

Taiwanese frork with Elastomere, sold from a number of brands like 43 cyclepieces, Abt, Akela, Rhino, Sabre etc. even also from Shogun for a while often with polished lowers. It had been offered quite cheaper as a Manitou or even Rockshox. So a no-name thing, but on the other side...

To repair or not repair cracked head tube

Hi, I just wanted to share my two cents about fixing cracked head tubes too. Brilliant work from @danson67! Just it may not work for all cracked head tubes, as very often it's not a single crack, but often more, or at least from both sides. I have bought once KTM Ultra (the blue one with AMP...

    Marin Shoreline Trail

Hi Voldman, welcome here, please provide some pictures, this is typical pretty helpful to date or comment on your bike. If I'm not mistaken, the model name Shoreline wasn't used before end of nineties at all. The first one was for a full suspension bike, here is a link to the 2001 model...

I also collect information about my bike "KTM ultra cross"

Nice Bike! Information about early KTM MTBs is rather spare, to me this might be a 1990 or 1991 model and similar like the ones liszed in this 91 brochure (sorry I don't have any better pictures) It's hard to see, is this an "MC" or are there even 3 letters at the seat tube?

Bulding my 1st Retro Grvalebike Merida Dakar 21 1994

this is a titan-finish, sometimes also called "titanized" frame, CroMoly with nickelplating, no paint, but maybe still a clear lacquer. Something which is impossible to do at home, not even companies can do this easily, because of environmental rules nowadays. So indeed a bit of a challenge...

    Bash guard ID???

The cut outs are just to fit more easily to different crank sets. The Crystal Design chain ring guard came in different variants, also for compact and standard BCD. This is from 1997: And here is an advert, already from 1992, showing also one with out any cut outs at all:

    Steel or aluminium rings ?

Hard to say, just my gut feeling, it's a LX550, by the general design and the used plastic cap. Rings should be aluminum.

    Show your K2

wow, this is a bit of an rare Razorback HT, most only re-call the iconic full suspension Razorback (with pull-shock licensed from Turner). This came 1999 and initially still with Noleen (earlier Girvin) Crosslink fork. But the frame was at this time already with IS disc mount, just not the...
