From Joy to Despair - 853 Rock Lobster

Might have been a cable stop for canti brakes there, or a light? Does look like it was painted after the drilling tbh. I have seen the same on other frames that were V/disc so maybe it is factory? Mis-aligned could still be factory like my Orange with its wonky bottle bosses and uneven...

For Sale Tioga Disk Drive Pro Rear MTB Wheel

Normally only for show. They can look OK but old father time isn't kind to the materials. It does make the survivors very rare and are priced accordingly.

That Wilier looks like a whole load of practical fun 😀

    2015 Austro-Daimler TT Carbon Limited.

An amount of hair in certain areas is more aero than shaved. I can't remember the exact places. Might be forearms and outside of the legs. The whole leg shaving thing is for making massage more comfy, application and removal of sticky bandages more effective and less painful, and to not have a...

    Condor/Dawes/Gazelle job lot

I didn't see that pic of the stays. Thank you for posting that. It is definitely looking like a bonded frame but not tubes inside lugs like an Alan.

    Raleigh chopper mk3

Thank you for that info. I can't remember who exactly had that US version. I grew up in a mixed bag of people from all over the place. Within the circle of our world there was a rough as guts GLC estate, airline pilot families, military connected families, doctors families, posh kids with...

    Raleigh chopper mk3

Holy cow! Choppers were everywhere as a kid and i hadn't a clue there were so many variants. I do remember having a go on a few and one with two gear levers. Would this have been a US import? or did the UK market also get 10 speed? I was thinking about the Grifter and the Bomber the other day...

    Condor/Dawes/Gazelle job lot

No. Auction frame does not have traditional lugs and what looks like a monostay. hard to tell the latter tbh.

Another stunner with that trials bike. That full sus in the leaves with the foggy bavkground is pure art. What camera are you using to take these pics?

    Condor/Dawes/Gazelle job lot

I am interested in that Gazelle. Looks like some kind of glued together affair and a monostay. Anyone know what model this is?

Imlach's Sweaty Hippie Funk Collection, adventure bikes, rusty rats, cruisers and other alt bastardisations of bicyclery

I have seen them shift front, or rear. It has to be top tube or footshift for hotrods, and then stem, bar, brakes, or downtube on anything else.

In today's market, even in such great condition and with uts provenance, the price on this should be more £75 than £750.

Imlach's Sweaty Hippie Funk Collection, adventure bikes, rusty rats, cruisers and other alt bastardisations of bicyclery

I can't ever find a reason to have a shifter mounted there. If you can mount it there you can mount it somewhere more sensible.

I think the two bikes you have already purchased are more suitable and much better. Spend your money on them 😀

@vtwinvince - Crescent used Merckx frames from around 1986. He supplied them frames made with various tubesets and Crescent badged them up. I don't know how long this went on for, or how many EM frames they branded. Maybe until 1990?

Land a big jump on that and you could push the earth out of its orbit! Joking aside....i bet it is infinitely better than the awful looking cr@p with backwards fitted forks, mag wheels and no-name components being pumped out of China , these days. Throw a few inexpensive yet better quality...
