Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

Some pics of the setup as it left the factory in here: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/mondraker-foxy-carbon-first-look-2014.html

Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

But that is exactly what you've got; a flanged aluminium bolt with a hex on either end to give options for (dis)assembly, and the chip. Is the hex on the flanged side of the bolt also too rounded to use, or can you try that? It looks exactly like every other Mondraker I've seen from that generation.

Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

If you can't get the bolt from Mondraker it sounds like they're all M10. The thread looks like 1.0, in which case you could potentially use something like this Trek bolt - they do a few lengths so get the closest and if it's too long then either leave it, or file it down as necessary. Obviously...

Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

Part 13 is just a washer/spacer so should be undamaged once you get the other bits out. What you need are parts 18 and 16, which are the nut and bolt respectively. The nut is the black drilled flip chip looking arrangement. The hex on the outside of the bolt is simply to make it easier to...

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

As to beavers. Lots of contention on this one; and as with everything you've got many competing arguments, priorities and beliefs. Fishermen hate seeing their rivers dammed because they see anything other than smooth flow as a problem. Farmers hate seeing land flood and go marshy. People...

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

I was going to reply to the badger point but the thread seems to have taken a turn! As with the individual approach to making peace with our impact on the planet, we all spend money on different things. If you value good, tasty, home cooked food then you'll be happy spending more on it than...

    Retro suspension recommendations...

Fox can't even support their own shit for more than five minutes. Six and half a dozen I'd say. Unless you know the restorers work I'd be inclined to go non-restored. That way anything you have to spend money on is new and done properly rather than using someone's dubious word they've done it...

Reduced Hope C2 brakes set number 3 caliper VGC + rotors £125 posted

To be fair the £40 an end ones are usually pretty ruined. Not all, but most. Corroded pistons, baggy levers, scratched and gouged adjusters etc. If you want a good set there aren't many out there as most were well used.

Wanted Hope Bulb 20mm front adaptors

Circlips are the same as the contemporary ones so that's at least slightly easier to deal with!

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

As you say, a shame there weren't more trees but also it's nice to see the enthusiasm. Hopefully this enthusiasm carries on elsewhere. The thing I don't like around a lot of these figures is that they bandy about numbers based on their own agenda; farmers underplay their impact and vegans...

Definitely. For a start there aren't enough native nurseries to support the number of trees that would be required to reforest huge swathes of land, but heather uplands are also species diverse when not artificially managed to maximise grouse numbers (alongside predator persecution). I love...

Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

My experiences with the Lazer ones and their like have by and large been positive, particularly in soft bolts. Where a normal Allen key will be trying to cam out of the bolt these dig in further, particularly if there's any good hex left at the very bottom. They also require no drilling and...

Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

Aluminium bolts are a pig. Mondraker should be quite helpful, or at least in my experience they are. As to getting them out, either use one of these, or these. Both are effective although if they're not completely destroyed then I'd try the latter first. Once out you can measure the thread...

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

I like the idea of some of these things. I sometimes have concern that what once worked in the bigger picture of a wider ecosystem now won't, but we won't find out unless we try. I'd rather see this trial and assessment than Arla's Bovaer one which has made buying dairy products recently...

Not sure what happened to the tractor pic @bikeworkshop but very nice! I'm sure some politician somewhere would think you need to get rid of it for a brand new one, probably with a hybrid engine or some such nonsense, for the few times a year you use it. Because of course you have to consume...

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

I had a bunch of articles saved as they greatly annoyed me, I'll did the links out. I get that in some cases they can overwhelm woods but these same people will put more effort into removing beech from their woods while doing nothing to criticise the complete lack of life that exists in any...

I stand corrected, I didn't realise you'd sorted out the older forks too. Nice one. It's mental how much modern stuff is already obsolete as far as Fox and SRAM are concerned. You can't get bladders for charger dampers separate despite them not lasting much longer than the service interval, and...
