Apparently now if you send something to the USA you have to pay the recipients import duty!
I'm not shitting you!

Feeling more and more like I´m in a black mirror episode. You know the one where they elect a cartoon character as president ...

I have a set of Carbon 26" rims on the way. Ordered Aug.4. They're not in country yet. I guess I'll have to pay ransom to get them now.

Some people say Homer Simpson predicted the future a few times. I didn't think he WAS the future.

AnPost (Ireland) is saying that the recipient still needs to pay, but they and their logistics partner will be collecting (for up to 5 calendar days before it's return to sender)

Buying stuff from the USA is a joke it cost more in post than the item plus on Ebay they are also saying 20% vat added on so the more you bid the higher the vat there just pricing themselves out of the market which is a shame for instance a set of handle bars hyperlight £12 fantastic price £47 postage and a set of wheels £140

I bought some 26" Carbon rims from Carbonal in China. No US mfg. offers them any more. It turns out that Carbonal makes all of their rims to order, which adds a couple weeks to the process. Now i'm over the Aug. 29 deadline. I wasn't surpised mine were custom since I wanted 24 spokes. But now I know they're all are made to order. The tariff was already in place for China. But I have no idea if it was included in the price or not. There was no mention of it either way at purchase. At least they're being shipped UPS and not China Post or USPS.
