Today's Ride

I didn't harbour much hope of a ride today as it rained for most of the day while I was working. Am I a fair-weather cyclist? I only have one bike with mudguards and it's one I wouldn't ride in the rain 😄

Anyway, it dried up and I managed to get out in daylight! This one is not really set up for the park, but took it slow on the non tarmac bits

Evening turned out quite nice in the end, park was very quiet - 11km 21C, but felt like 16C

Just finished the 2006 Zaskar Team and thought it needed a good try out, so I went for a climb on some sunken lanes at the back of mine.
Here is the finished article, I am calling the look, "distressed".

The single track stages were a little overgrown, becoming more three quarter tracks and definitely not best tackled in shorts and short sleeves, I'm not sure what was worse, the brambles or the nettles.

There's a lovely sector through an avenue of ancient yews though.

Finally coming out to a great view over Winchester (shame about the crane). Overall there's a few niggles to iron out but I enjoyed the crisp shifting from relatively modern XT gear and the Recons performed nicely over the roots.
