Show us your Cannondale

Hey guys, hope your well.

Sorry i'm messaging with out uploading any images, i'm blown away but the quality of these builds / bike, mind blowing. Sadly i only have 1996 m900 frame and fork, but hopefully one day it will be built to good enough quality to post in this group.

I've also set my heart on a 1995 on wards BotE (the rear wish bone frame version) . If anyone had a beaten up frame and fork combo they want to get rid of please let me know.

Also just had one question i was hoping one of you could help me with:
For any of you that have ridden M800 BotE could you please tell me if it feels radically different to ride because of the raised BB say compared to the M900 standard frame shape or any other cannondale / other brand bike with normal height BB?

Thanks to anyone that replies.

a topic hard to be discussed, you have to experience it...
So you should test ride it not buy something blindly.

Personally I do not get along well with this lifted bottom bracket thing. To have a similar pedaling position for riding efficiently longer distances, you have to lift than similarly the saddle, and I do have simply the feeling not sitting centered at bike any longer, but rather just on top of it.
It may still make sense for Trial usage etc. just not for me and my riding style.

Sure, I do like a bit those new and modern Geometries with rather a few centimeters BB-drop, which came with the move to 29ers, but you can see those things nowadays even with for instance kids bikes in small wheel diameters too.
This gives you simply the feeling of being part of the bike.

Hi @joglo, thanks so much for replying and sharing your feed back. Very interesting. I have a 29er and i slightly feel like i'm riding a big harley with low seat and raised handle bars etc, although really comfortable. But i think because i grew up on the 90's geometries, i'm stuck in love with that old school (pretty uncomfortable position). Also i was saldy blessed with a stature of 5.7ft on a good day, with a morjority of that hight coming from my torso rather than my legs 😂😕 so i've had to buy 16" frames in the past to be able to raise the saddle enough so it doesn't look like a stunt bike. I always love the photography of bikes in 90s catalogues, with super small frames and then maxed out seat posts. But because of my height i could never get that look, even on a 16" bike, also because of my longer torso, i always felt a hit hunched up on a 16" unless i switched out the stem for larger bike stem and pushed the sadly back as far as poss. I now ride 18" 90's size frames and just have to get off the seat when i stop etc, but least this size frame with correct sadly position and correct stem feels good. So maybe with a BotE it might allow me to finally get the look with raised seat post. You can tell by the above i guess i love the look of bike over rideability (style over substance) but if i ever ride more than 20k i bet your words on comfort and feeling part of the bike, will be ringing in ears. Thanks again for feed back and i will def try and find one i can ride before investing now 🙌

Hi! I hope it's okay to post this unfinished build. I got hold of this a few weeks ago. It was being stored for 20 years in some guy's warehouse so a lot of cleaning and polishing to come to this. Currently trying to source all missing STX parts to have a full set and probably need new rims etc. Stoked to become a cannondaler soon though! 😂🙏 Oh and I paid 70€ for it, what do you guys think?

As Joglo mentioned, you have to experience it.
My BotE is I think 1990 (will definitely add pictures some day, my phone is more retro than my bikes) and the raised BB makes some of my urban commutes tricky (this traffic lights, where you suddenly realise you can't reach the ground while still being in the saddle...). Anyway, I've recently been thinking of getting rid of some bikes and it is the one that stays, just because I really like how it handles off-road. Might not be everyone's cup of tea for descents, but for some reason it works for me, with 2,25 tires. Also, tried it for <60km rides only and it is not the best ride of that era, just something different, nice to try and definitely usable.
