1991 KHS Montana Pro - Damn things keep following me home

Dirt Disciple
While searching for an older set of Deore cranks for a build for a good friend, I came across a '91 KHS Montana Frame/Fork/Deore Cranks/Deore DX Pedals with headset for $40.xx CDN.

Can't exactly say no to that at that price eh.

I have never owned or ridden a KHS and this is the first Montana Pro I have ever seen in real life.

Ritchey Logic tubing throughout and possibly the forks as well.

18.5" centre to centre seat tube which by my understanding going by KHS sizing equates to a 19" ride. Top-tube length is 22.5"

Am thinking I'll do a build up for a buddy as a gift with extra parts I have laying around.

BB spins smooth, headset feels rough but I won't know how bad it is until I open it up. I like that it is has an old school BB on it. Paint is good but so far from perfect but as I will be gifting it to friend I won't be doing a repaint on it.

Anyone got a link/copy/scan PDF of their 1991 catalog I grab? Anyone know what the factory specs/parts were on these back in the day?

Serial # is: U10612475 which is if I understand correctly equates a 1991 June build.

Interesting. I think you're spot on with the frame number and date. I haven't got any 1992 on record but by 1993 the frames were being made from True Temper OX tubing instead.
Diamondback and KHS were being built in the same factory, so interesting to see a Ritchey tubeset, as the Diamondback frames were all True Temper. The Ritchey tubed Diamondbacks which came a few years later were built by Hodaka.
