I/we get it. You think everyone could run their straddle's lower.
But trust me, it's plenty low and the brake works fantastically well (minus the decades old XT pads which are just for show and will be replaced with new Thinlines for daily riding).
It's a 2.3 tire, and I'd like to allow for at least some trail debris clearance back there!

"We" get it? Relax man, it´s just a brake cable set up. If there is one shared feeling here is a funny OCD around bike details and not intolerance towards opinions. Get a clue.
PS: it´s a matter of geometry, science and not taste. There is more progressive action when the straddle is lower. Unless you have the older geometry XT cantis, lower is better.

I fully agree on relaxing and it just being brake set-up, hence the comment on commenting on it!

I'd say don't expect people not to defend themselves and their own preferences/hard work when leaving feedback on here. Anyway, here's a preview of the first ride, maybe it'll help ease your unease concerning straddle height?
I'm certainly not intolerant towards opinions. This place is the best exactly because it's so full of them! Doesn't mean you have to repeat the same one on every single thread, or if you're going to, that people aren't going to chime in about it themselves.
I got told off once for saying in more than one place how much I disliked Kleins! Just for example.

Get a clue on geometry of low profile shimano brakes. Also don´t try too hard to be popular or represent the collective´s opinion... that´s even more embarrassing than a bad brake set up. Just speak for yourself.

I really, really like them. I've used them on three different bikes now and they've been great on all my usual trails.
I will say, the pretty thin/flexible sidewalls aren't entirely puncture resistant! But they are plenty shock absorbent. Paired with a ti bar especially.
I guess because they're tubeless compatible, a few sets have been a right PITA to seat on the rim, for whatever reason.
Otherwise: highly recommended!

They do look great and nice to have another modern tire option available.
Oh, I hate that, probably why they sell the Tire Bead Jack, ha. I remember encountering endless problems with modern tires on modern rims (albeit ~10 years ago) and it was generally down to the thickness of the rim tape (and my feeble hands!?!), and we are talking a millimeter or two's tolerance. I now use the VAR tire mounting tool for those more difficult mounting installations.
And you need to ride my '90 Klein Attitude - it might change your opinion
