Pair of tyres for $500 - is this a new record?

That ebayer willowharrison has / had some nice stuff on offer, some of which I had a nibble at even with the large shipping & import charges that they would attract, and kicked myself for not being a bit braver (who bought his black XT wheelset? and those M231 CD rims? 🤨).
As with anything if you believe you've got a rare, desirable item, then I s'pose it's worth listing at a strong price to see whether it sells or not, after all the price can always come down if it doesn't.
By the same token, if you have a need for what he's selling and can afford what he's asking...

I dont think a lot of this stuff is rare....its just being used at the moment...

Lockdown got every bloke over 40 thinking about his life and lack of it.....result...every old bit of kit got gobbled up and for a few minutes they felt ok again.

In a year, when the bikes been sat in the garage, paint tins on the bars, bits of wood covering it and blocked in by assorted pushchairs, it will all be back on ebay.

If your buying ridiculously expensive kit, be bloody certain its something you love and want to keep as there's a whirlwind a'coming.

Imo.....

I'm sure there are warehouses of white Onza porcupines just waiting to be found. Many high end parts where made in the 100's, some not even in the dozens.. tires where made in the 1000's of course but seeing how they are a high wear item.. many sought after rare tires are not coming around more then a couple times a year at best.
You Deore crowd should stick to what you know.
