Crikey, don't even remember some of those tyres, were Farmer Giles more incestuous relations of Farmer John and his cousins, nephews etc? Certainly had plenty of them in late 80's.
Picked up same model/year a few weeks ago, much cheaper but work to do. Broken shifter and no bouncy stuff going on in forks. Probably a winter project.
My dad always insisted on them, first thing he did when either my sister or myself had a new bike was to fit one.
He was also very enthusiastic with his usage of the oil can and grease gun.
