I really can’t work out what it might be and it’s driving me up the wall. Appreciate any help.

New problem. Went to fit the wheel. It appears the drive side drop out is bent closed so that the wheel will not go in. Will see if I can bend it back. I anticipate the rear hanger is bent out of place too.

Haha. You are absolutely right. I have got to a point where life is short. As long as you use and enjoy it it really doesn’t matter what other people think. Getting old sucks.

Thank you. After years of watching the pros toil on the grand tours my heart goes to the old steel racing bikes. My head needs something that is comfortable for my ageing body. I love to repair and fix. I guess it’s my hobby.

Frustrating but rewarding when you do finally unstick it :) Had a look at the forks. They have Campagnolo dropouts. Tempted to use them. I’m thinking of building the bike up as is to see if I like it. Im very lucky to also have a rourke 853 and a concorde. I don’t want to cut the carbon forks...

Either way it’s irrelevant. I have a carbon minimal fork to put on it.

Do you have a thread on the build?

Forks match up with a lot of online searches and the paint points at a 1987 possibly?

Had a look at the paint earlier which is extremely thin. I can’t find many images of the bike in this colour. I’m not sure whether to refinish it and try to match it or go for another colour entirely.

It is a bit done in. Chrome has gone on the fork. I could either rechrome or use a Colombus minimal fork I have. All dependant on the bottom bracket really and how and if it plays nice.

Hi, I thought I would share my new project. Not too sure how to build it yet. Most likely with a 11 speed 105 or Rival because I have it laying around spare. If I get on with it then I might think about moving towards a full retro build. Frame is fairly tatty and I haven't received it yet so...
