Could you give me some info on a Gitane?

Thanks! Some great info there. Would perhaps have preferred standards that are more easily available (wasn't even aware of 22 mm stems), but I guess I could see it as a challenge.

Could you give me some info on a Gitane?

I've been looking for a new project after spending way too much time and money on restoring an old Colnago. Now I found a Gitane for not much money from a local seller that looks nice, but I don't have much knowledge of the brand and its potential "quirks". Is a French BB to be expected for...

Wanted Campagnolo 27.2 mm aero seatpost

Too bad, would have been interested in that C-Record post! I might already have found another one, but I'll let you know if that falls through. Would ideally find one that's in near perfect condition though.

Looking for Record or later Chorus, so not one with the "bulkier" top. Needs to look nice.

In either 105 or 115 length. I know they're quite rare, so willing to pay accordingly.

90's Record brifters compatible with "new" brakes?

Re: Re: I'm quite meticulous  However, I think the most recent version of Record and Chorus are perhaps a bit more elegant than the former "skeleton" brakes. Might go with those.

90's Record brifters compatible with "new" brakes?

Was thinking about maybe upgrading the brake calipers on my bike with 8-speed Record. While it's of course nice to keep everything period correct, this bike is going to be a user, and modern brakes are almost always better. Would it be possible to use a more current set of campag calipers with...

trying to decide on some rims for a 91ish build

I went with Ambrosio Excellights on my 90's Colnago. Very pleased.

    What campagnolo do I have?

Correction; the brakes are Athena: http://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/Cam ... ge_43.html

    What campagnolo do I have?

The brakes are not Chorus. Not the "true" monoplaner construction where one arm sorta go through the other. These are monoplaners: I'm thinking Veloce or Mirage.
