Would also go for the m520, thy even come in silver for a retro look - the design is unchanged since 2004 so it’s fair to call them a classic. On my road bike I have the XT pedals, lighter but the fell of it is the same and the grams saved is minimal.

That’s a really interesting bike - would love to find one some day! There are a lot of late nineties hybrid bikes, but very few high end hybrids. I have owned two Swiss cross - is definitely a full blooded cross bike, the 2000’ish model doesn’t take much more than 33mm tires with proper clearance!

FYI, the Rollhoff manual says that on small wheels (under 26") the spokes should not cross the flange bolts - for me this is just a general rule and I never do it.
