    1997 Bontrager Race Lite

Looks very nice, shows one more time how versatile these bontragers are! What forks are you using? Is it the 425mm tange or an shorter version? Maybe you could post a drive side shot.

    Early Bontrager Race Lite

A indy c with 63mm travel has a A/C of apx 420mm - minus 13mm for the sag gives 407mm. But same same The issues is the rake - 14mm makes a difference in how the bike feels, but it might not be a problem. I have only experimented whit it on modern mountainbikes. The pike fork comes in different...

    Early Bontrager Race Lite

But the race/race lite came in a suspension and a non suspension version right - So to replace a suspension fork you would need a bit more? Or is it just the head tube angle?

    Early Bontrager Race Lite

A rule of thumb I use, approx: 410mm for 51mm - 63mm travel. 420mm for 63mm - 80mm travel. 440mm for 80mm - 100mm travel. The thing with bontragers is that they are designed around a fork with lower rake then normal, 1.25” (31,7mm) - it might be hard to find one if it’s not a bonty, most rigid...

    Bridgestone MB-1 1992

Is all original with a suntour xc pro group - but there is some small spot rust here and there - the original tan wall tires are falling apart but have a set of IRC Mythos that come along. Has original saddle too, to replace the flite. Better photos later:

    bring out your bontrager?

I know it’s not the consensus but if it’s for the trail the order is almost upside down. The forks are the issue here - it’s very hard to get hold of 1” forks that really can take a beating. But if you have the luck to find a Sid or something the race/ race lite are amazing else a late...
