Some help with identifying a Kona (believe it is a 91 Exploisf)

Brought it home today. I have been sicker than a dog this week so no real work on it. Need to locate a proper dog collar for the rear brake cable routing. And it turns out my P2 forks are too short on the steerer, but buddy does have a few other pairs I can look at once I am feeling better. And...

    Kona vs. Sunn

I can't speak to the Sunn frames, but the early Kona (pre '94) are well respected and damn nice frames. An Explosif you can't go wrong with, and heck, the the Cinder Cone from that area is a good quality frame. Thing to keep in mind is those early Konas fit like early Brodies. long long top...

Some help with identifying a Kona (believe it is a 91 Exploisf)

Very possibly may just be a stuck on item. I didn't want to try prying off as it is not mine yet. Having seen the '92 Pros I am gonna say no it is not. Basic deep black paint. Thanks. I do believe I shall go ahead with the trade. Again... not that I need it anyway.... and hell, already five...

Some help with identifying a Kona (believe it is a 91 Exploisf)

Centre of BB to top of seattube measures 19" (17" to centre of TT) Serial: F1021959 Someone has added a cable guide to the top tube...

BoTM Bike of The Month August 2025 - Blue-collar Special - now taking entries

Those were nice entry level rides. And in the sizes they came in, them and the MT 10 offered shorter riders a bike shop bike. I seem to recall they also offered a full chromoly frame and fork option with lower end parts. Sad how many of the old companies are gone.

"No hanging 200GS from a Yeti either, cos we'll know what you're up to!" HA! Damn that is funny.... Maybe we should have a BoTM contest with absurd setup's in the fall eh.

Lovely build. Have always had a soft spot for those lugged frames. They ride beautifully.

    Dekerf Team SL build

IMHO the DeKerf logo on the fork along with matching paint is a must do. Just my two cents.
