Confused - My Old Shimano ISO Sq Taper is bigger than JIS..

Yeah, I've enjoyed all this investigating too. Not got the pedals but I've got the adapters to install my 9/16 Dura-Ace pedals. These cranks are going in my Titanium TT stead. I wanted to try 165mm cranks cause I'm a short ass and these came up on ebay. I love mixing old with new, what's...

Confused - My Old Shimano ISO Sq Taper is bigger than JIS..

Yeah, did consider that. The more I find out the more I think the axle at is a BB-7200. That Sutherland pdf is great. So much information. Haven't had a chance to digest it but it appears that the 7500, 7300 and 7200 bottom brackets differ from all the other Shimano JIS/ISO BB's at that time...

Confused - My Old Shimano ISO Sq Taper is bigger than JIS..

Thanks guys, your replies are really appreciated. Looks like it must be a BB-7200. That would make sence seeing as the cranks are RC-7200's. Just Shimano's 1981 catalogue states they came with the track BB-7500 in 107/9mm lengths. http://www.velo-pages.com/main.php?g2_itemId=6945 page 23...

Confused - My Old Shimano ISO Sq Taper is bigger than JIS..

Thanks for your detailed reply, which unfortunately confirms my confusion as it contradicts what I'm seeing. This is what confuses me, from the above that would suggest that if it's ISO then it should be smaller than a JIS BB, but it's not. When I put one of my newer DuraAce FC-7410 JIS crank...

Confused - My Old Shimano ISO Sq Taper is bigger than JIS..

Um, I always thought that they used ISO square taper up to about 1981/82 then swithched to the new Japan Idustry Standard. Certainly looking on velobase ( http://velobase.com/ViewSingleComponent.aspx?ID=2338c300-aa3c-4d07-9e85-98ebc6c74ac3 ) it shows all the early shimano stuff as ISO square and...

Confused - My Old Shimano ISO Sq Taper is bigger than JIS..

Hi all, I'm a little confused. Please help.. I have a old Shimano BB dated 1980, think it might be a BB-7500 as it came with some NOS Dura-Ace FC-7200's cranks (Dyna Drive dated 1980) that I recently purchased. Apparently Shimano used to recommend and sell them with the BB-7500 bottom...

Thanks for the link. God knows how you found that :D I love the look of aero pedals, problem is I intend to use these cranks on my TimeTrial bike and really need to run my DuraAce pedals and Race shoes. Wanted to try 165 cranks and these seemed really cool (I just love to mix modern...

I know mate, and it's good to have that option  Just I'm undecided if these cranks are worth that much to me. I'm not really in a rush, so if all leads dry up I'll stump up the dosh for the custom jobbies...

    WTD - Shimano Ax/Ex DYNA-drive pedal adapters, Retro 80's

Calling out to all you Retro Riders. I'm after some pedal adapters that convert the 80's Dura-Ace AX or 600 EX cranks that used a system called DYNA Drive. The design placed the foot approx 1.5cm below the virtual axle, positioning the rider lower on the bike, resulting in less drag and a...
