Given that the 97 P7 had a disc tab on the rear (one of mine has) then I don't see it as being a big deal. Disc brakes have been around since the early 90's and to have a proper tab and seatstay/chainstay brace put on is just a better (and more permanent) way of achieving what would have been...

Sunn made some really cool bikes. My favourite was the bmix - well ahead of its time. Also had (I think) the Rudd (?) components which kept it in house and the prices reasonable at a time where in house kit was in its infancy.

Think there's a 1 1/8 Shocktech on ebay at the moment going cheap. Polished rather than the carbon one and very "Manitou" looking
