I´ve had this lying around, all of my 1 1/4" bikes have headsets, 2 with these lovely things. having had a look on the evil bay, there´s someone in germany wanting 225 quid for 1 of these!!!! I on the other hand will start at 50 plus the postage. open to offers/friendly abuse.

Back in the 90's the likes of Performance Bikes and Fast Bikes would bang on about 'static sag' in articles about suspension set-up. Because it's important, the beginning of setting up everything else. Tent amount to witchcraft is suspension set-up, up there with carburetion..... Black magic...

Although the frame measures 44cm, medium?, the rear triangle is quite small. If the seat stays joined the seat tube a bit higher the adapter would probably clear it. Damnit! So if yours is a conventional designed frame that isn't tiny sized, these will probably work great. I'll be in the corner...

I did get 2, so there will be some light butchery to see if I can get it to fit and function

I wasn´t aware of the whole Hayes 22mm caliper mount until earlier this year when i happened on a 2000 oclv Trek. recently an adaptor from that there china has appeared on ebay and aliexpress, definitely weren´t there earlier in the year (did find early hope brakes complete with hayes adaptor)...

It does look like the 5500 I have, but someone went to the trouble of swapping all the Dura ace for ultegra? I agree spinergy would look the nuts, bit would cost more than the rest of the bike, if I could find some..... Suppose I can start a 90's Dura ace collection 🙄

Picked this up last night, happened to see it on marketplace just as to was listed, the guy said that between this and the lawnmowers he listed his phone nearly melted! What did he expect, he asked 100 British pounds for it! The interwebs has lead me to believe it's a 2004 bike, can anyone...

i bought some when i was back home in spain, seem fine. obvs didnt get stung for customs, vat, etc as mentioned so i can live with it. plus they´re not dry rotted and liable to come apart at inopportune moments

hi matt, dials you say? the preload adjusters? in need of 1 of them. think most of the insides are there, hard to say as at the moment as some of them are keen to stay inside.

bike inn, 18.50 a pair, firexcpro 10.50 each cant fall off for that.
