Nice collection. I had a love/hate relationship with my Santa Cruz Heckler. It was a sold bike that was very capable but always had a few problems. I would get everything dialed in and then I would have 2 or 3 problems that needed fixed. I sold it on a few years ago. I still enjoy looking at...
They are so hard to find and they bent so easily that many were damaged and tossed. If I find a set I'll buy them. It's one of the few rare components that I had in the 90s. Now I wish I still had my damaged set.
I have searched the internet from time to time trying to find proof that these bar ends are real. I finally found some pictures. The set I had on my old GT Tempest were black. If anyone knows of a set that are available, I would like to buy them.
I was shopping for a cassette for my Ritchey Ultra project and I found a 11x34. There isn't anything special about that gear range. I just want to make sure it will work before I buy it. I can see what other cassettes are out there. That one just seemed like a good option if it will work. Thanks.

I look forward to this build. I think your right about 97 being a great year for GT. That was the year I got my first real mountain bike. It was a 95 GT Tempest that I bought used from my brother's college roommate. In 97 I would go to the bike shop and salivate while looking at all of the...
In 86 these came with Dura Ace hubs and 600 headset and cranks. I got the Dura Ace hubs and thought I would just use the matching headset. The crankset I'm using is XT. I've had it in my parts bin for years along with the handlebar and deerhead derailleur. I've been waiting for the right frame...
Turn the fork upside down on a hard surface like cement with a piece of wood between the cement and the steerer tube (to avoid damaging the cement). Place a flathead screwdriver on the bottom of the race (now facing up). Then strike the handle of the screwdriver with a hammer. Repeat until the...
