Ellis Briggs NOT gone into liquidation

We live in the age of the internet . A frame builder can Market , self promote and show their work to millions for very little if any outlay . The downside to that is if there is customer dissatisfaction they can be very publicly crucified . The owner of Ellis Briggs perhaps hit the perfect...

Ellis Briggs NOT gone into liquidation

My cycling is mainly road based with road racing in the past . However I always find it entertaining and enlightening to watch a Paul Brodie the mountain bike frame builder (mainly) you tube clip . Paul sold his successful bike business but shares his skill and craft on camera . The instalment...

Ellis Briggs NOT gone into liquidation

When I started cycling on lightweight bikes in the early 1980s there was a plethora of British frame builders , the predominant material to have a frame made from was steel . Bob Jackson until recently made well priced frames , semi production style . They were well established , had low...

    Panasonic PR6000

Yes I sold mine a shame because it fit great but I have and had too many bikes . It definitely opened my eyes to the top quality of Japanese bikes though ! Eddy Planckaert's Panasonic was for sale recently on Netherlands Marktplaats , now I am fairly certain that bike would have had a lot of...

    Panasonic PR6000

Very nice bike . I had one that was the Pro ride of Patrick Stroucken when he raced for Peter Post's Panasonic team . It was a great handling bike even though it had been well used .

For Sale Sold - Raleigh Randonneur 1997. Frame, fork, and some parts.

Hi Waterford 45 , Please could you measure the length of the head tube ?. It might be a mistake on my part but the size of your Randonneur seems to fall between the 55cm and 57cm size , I don't think the guy with the tape measure would have been that far out at Raleigh but worse things have...

    Unusual frame

Looks like it was made by light structures in Yorkshire . They make the lighting rigs for bands stage shows . That was a poor pun but it would be interesting to see who made this very rare looking bike .

Canti pad set up - what tricks do you use?

I don't have any mechanical tips apart from maybe a third hand tool . If the brake set up is pissing you off, have a sit down and a nice cup of tea . Allow yourself plenty of time and laugh at your own mechanical ineptitude you will get there eventually with a few curses thrown in .

    Bianchi I.D. help

Hi , This is very similar to a 1989 Mondiale frame . I think it is higher quality with the engraved seat stay top eyes and B in the lugs . The serial number sounds familiar to the Mondiale . Look up on line 1989 Bianchi Mondiale lots of information for you to harvest . The tubing is probably...

    Dealing with reluctant measurers..

For many years I have bought and sold mainly road bikes for my own use . It helps that I worked in Engineering so did a multitude of measuring and also scaling because the drawing office had left a dimension off . People sell bikes for friends /relatives often having zero bike knowledge but...

Get rid of rubbing marks of brake lines on fork crown

You could get someone to Tig weld over the top of the groove . I wouldn't advise heating up by welding an old aluminium fork though . if it breaks it could be nasty .
