Cheap shimano bh59/bh90 from eBay good or not

Need a replacement shimano hydraulic hose kit and just looking at the cheap sets on eBay. Has any one tried these and are they any good or a waste of money. I've never had to replace any hydraulic hose's before so I've no experience of these unbranded sets, so any feed back will be useful thanks

Wanted Cheapish rigid mtb in medium/large for commuting

After 30 years of working 40 miles away I've now got a job which is 10 mins by push bike. The only draw back is the cycle area is used by other offices and there's no cover to it. I'm after a rigid medium to large ( around 19" so what ever that is but I can go up or down an inch on that. No...

2020 specialized stumpjumper rear thru axle

I moved my sons stumpy out of my way in the garage and felt that the rear wheel had a small amount of play in it. I checked the rear thru axle was tight and it was. I then removed the rear wheel to see what was going and and it looks like the standard axle has some play when placed back in the...

    New rotors or not

Had a few rides on this now and the brakes are in full working order. So just new pads and a clean up of the rotors did the job

    New rotors or not

Yeah for sure I will keep my eye on the possible caliper leak but at least now I know about that possible failure.

    New rotors or not

Pads were delivered this morning, I bought them from tredz as didn't want to chance getting knock offs from eBay. Anyway with pads now fitted, everything checked and quadruple cleaned in various ways. I'm please to say that both front and rear lock up with ease. So it was the pads after all...

    New rotors or not

Not sure if I've upset anyone as it's only the mention of the hose's that went over my head as I never even considered or thought about them. What I did do while checking for leaks on the calipers was to check the whole system while it was under pressure and it was all spot on. This is on both...

    New rotors or not

I haven't a clue unless the hose is stamped. I've still got the standard hose that came on it, Whyte T130RS 2018 if that helps. The rotors have been lightly sanded, cleaned with car brake cleaner, petrol, meths and now electrical contact cleaner in that order.

Both calipers are fully dry after testing

    New rotors or not

I've got my toilet paper around the caliper now with the brake block in and lever clamped. Not sure how long I need to leave it till I check though. ( I did clean around the caliper first to make checking it easier )

    New rotors or not

Br-m8000 I think it said on the rear of the caliper. I've googled caliper leak and it's definitely a large problem. I'm going out to the garage to do the brake bleed and toilet paper trick to see if I have got any leaks before I get the new pads

    New rotors or not

In answer to a few of above I've got electrical cleaning stuff in my garage so may also give that a whirl. I'll also try the method for testing for leaks. I don't use and cleaning detailing stuff as I find it a pain just doing a quick soapy wash

    New rotors or not

Are you saying that if this is the problem I will have fine oil mist around the edge of the white pistons. I'm asking as I can have a look but the rear of the pads I took out were totally dry I think

    New rotors or not

I thought petrol would be the optimum, it's just the fumes that make it not popular as it's hazardous

    Hopefully that's it
