    Koga Miyata Fullpro-S 1984 - part 2

Following on from my older posts from 2020-2022 (link).... ....and now a few years later I have picked up this build again. My search for a 7200 AX stem with intact painted logo led me to conclude that the logo is too easily damaged. So, somewhat over-the-top I created an artwork and got my one...

    1994 Koga-Miyata FullPro-S: the Max-tubing FullPro

replying to a thread that's a couple of years old.... I'm a Koga-Miyata fan, I liked the fact that they were doing something different and using Shimano groups and the Miyata partnership with the frames. Odd to have one with Campag parts and Italian tubing as it seems to go against the Japanese...

Newbie here and my Overbury's (Connoisseur?) renovation.

Thanks, in the meantime I had located them as a supplier. Did you cut the tape off flush with the bar ends, or tuck it in?

I like the bar wrap, where did you get it?

    Pinarello Banesto ML34 - update

I bought this bike in 2018 and did a clean and touch up, replacing some of the decals and have used it happily since (all of 1000km in 7 years!). I was never happy with my work though as the top tube decals were wrong and the paint match was terrible. see post Fast forward to today and I've...

Early 80s Miyata Silver Blue paint code

I've done this a few times (including with a 1984 Koga-Miyata) and found the best way is to find a car that looks the right colour. Then you go to a paint shop and they will mix it for you or can buy rattle-cans online. BUT - the colour does always look a bit darker on a bike frame than it does...

    Finished - my Pinarello Banesto

replying to a thread from 7 years ago! I never meant that the frame was low end, I know the ML34 was top of the range for the general sale bikes. What I meant was the Veloce gruppo which in 1995 was in the middle of the Campag range. I decided to keep the Veloce (and still have it) as it must...

RX100 shifters woes - any advice?

Get the shifters into an ultrasonic tank. I did this just a few weeks ago with a 105 3x10 set and they went from inoperable to snick-snick perfect.

Early 60s BSA Sports light roadster

I collected a 60s BSA in poor condition this week. I've had half an eye out for a Raleigh tourer of the period, but this caught my eye due to the relative rarity of BSA, despite being more-or-less a Raleigh, and the colour scheme which is unusual compared to the conservative dark blues & greens...

    1961 Raleigh superbe (Helio)

I've not read your thread in detail yet, but some of the bike at least looks the same as this BSA Sports that I have just picked up. V similar looking chain case anyway. I'll be looking to do a similar preservation job on it and might be asking you for some close-up pics, not least of the chain...

    Mercatone Uno Bianchi

He changed his mind about selling it, but I'm keeping my eye on it and will hopefully get it eventually

    Mercatone Uno Bianchi

Well I didn't mention Pantani, the bike in question is supposedly from Mario Traversoni. I've known this bike since about 2001 and my opinion is that nobody would fake a bike from a little-known and not-especially-successful (sorry Mario!) sprinter, only a couple of years after the team's glory...

    Mercatone Uno Bianchi

Hi All, are there any experts on these much-copied bikes? I've been offered a supposed original team bike (yes, I know) and am looking for an expert willing to have a pm discussion. Thanks!

    Colnago SLX spiral conic

I do confess to having gold plated my own DA7200 cassette for my Koga Miyata FullPro-S. "Some kind" of gold finish was original and the only way I could find to replicate it was gold plating. I don't expect it to last on the teeth, but hopefully the rest of the sprocket finish will survive.

    Colnago SLX spiral conic

I saw the gold set and did laugh. Mind you, it's much better than the corroded set on Ebay that some Italian bloke wants €200 for.
