New member here from the USA with a couple bikes from the UK

A couple of really nice frames you have there and it is very sad news that Nicholsons closed at the start of the month. My 1958 Flying Scot was originally sold by Nicholsons. Hard to tell from the photos but it looks like the green one has at the front top of the seat tube a small notch cut out...

Mercian - King of Mercia - Touring Geometry 653 - update Page: 6

Well, again I must apologize for the lengthy delays between updates. To be fair while it has been out and getting ridden since the last update, it hasn't been anywhere exciting other than commuting or local weekend runs. Not much difference this past weekend other than I wanted to try the...

    Retrobike Touring.

Agree, STI’s are awkward for anything more than a slight flare. I use downtube shifters on my LHT, same as my older tourers that run randonneur bars. Jamie

    Retrobike Touring.

My main touring bike for the last 14 to 15 years, a Surly Long Haul Trucker has run On One Midge bars which are flared drops since I built it. Hugely comfortable and give great control whether on tar or gravel. If you see my link to my blog you will see this bike goes everywhere on all...

Hi Clubby Great looking Triumph, they get such a good write up. Yeah, I have had motorbikes all my life and sold my BMW R100S a few years back and bought the 500 Enfield. I wasn’t riding anywhere near as much or anywhere the miles. Just when I have a few hours or the occasional club run away...

Nice job repurposing those chairs, very handy in the workshop. For me it was a quiet weekend at home with a ride out on Saturday afternoon on the motorbike and on Sunday afternoon on the Jack Taylor. Great weather up this way. Hope you are all well and hopefully get a meet up soon. Jamie...

    Jack Taylor Super Tourist - 1983 built - sold 1990 -

It's been a while since I updated and while my JT Super Clubman gets most of my attention as it's my go to JT for pretty much everything, especially over the winter, I thought with the weekend being such good weather up here that I should get the Super Tourist out, give it a quick going over and...
