    Tandem wanted!

I'm looking for a tandem pre 87 steel min 21.5 + 21.5 ideally a tourer with a drag brake age and condition not too important Yorkshire area

    Name that bike!

I think that's a Galaxy! Having ridden one(when no one was looking!) They ride really well, are faster than they look and will take a big touring load too! They came with a matching steel rack made by Dawes originally but I don't suppose many of these have survived.

Re: Lovely job, that blue looks awesome! I suspect that acgowers one may well have been metallic red,if it's early 80s the original Dawes paint didn't last well and would have had Weinman centre pulls badged as Dawes with plate straddle fittings, the rear had a roller on the saddle clamp to aid...

Re: Frame outwardly very similar to Galaxy Mixte I know these route the rear brake through holes in the split top tube bracing, the seat tube lug is very similar, components are not original. Some more photos would be good!

My Taylor left the factory without box lining,it was ordered specifically without! So I have to keep it that way, if I want box lining I'll have to get another!(only half a joke!) Still a stunning frame, I'm planning some renovation in the future. Interestingly my Raleigh has some boxing and...

I found Dave Moultons blog, which is excellent! I don't think the frame numbers work tho so it's not one of his, I'll keep trying,I must admit my Raleigh Royal is lovely, I've owned it from new and its a quality bit of work(not all were!) I also own a Jack Taylor tandem,I knew the brothers back...

Re: It rides well, might upset a few of the local carbon crew! I'll service it and keep it ratty, it'll need a threadless bb when I get round to grinding off the weld! Looking forward to some fast rides. Ian
