need help to identify possible Carlton pro

Carrera was the name taken by the ex Carlton frame builders when the Carlton factory closed down...... I've come across a few over the years. It's the way that the stays and chainstays meet the dropout with the hollow that looks Raleigh / Carlton.

Not really, they didn't last long and the Carlton link was an educated guess. The dropout finish style was used by quite a number of builders, Dave Moulton for example...... I think you might have to chalk this one up to an unknown builder.

Looks nice though |:)

Re:

It rides well, might upset a few of the local carbon crew! I'll service it and keep it ratty, it'll need a threadless bb when I get round to grinding off the weld! Looking forward to some fast rides.

I found Dave Moultons blog, which is excellent! I don't think the frame numbers work tho so it's not one of his, I'll keep trying,I must admit my Raleigh Royal is lovely, I've owned it from new and its a quality bit of work(not all were!) I also own a Jack Taylor tandem,I knew the brothers back in the 80s,always wanted one,it was destined to be mine!

I think by the time your frame was made Dave Moulton would be in the states. I do hope your Taylor has box lining :)
