Show us the gravel adventure bike you've built!

I feel these old hybrids make much better touring/gravel bikes. I built up a Miyata Triplecross a few years ago and really liked it, but then I bought a Miyata 1000 and they essentially did the same thing and the touring bike could take gravel tires as well and handle a load better. Here is a...

the unofficially cool MTB drop bar thread

Here is my latest drop bar conversion project in mid build. The base is an MS Racing Pro Comp XT frame I bought for parts with a generic threaded fork. Build is 9 speed ultegra barends, tektro levers, some generic alloy drops in 31.8, acera vbrakes with amazon generic travel agents, some araya...

Brining back the neon in old neon paint

Thanks for explaining the science behind it - makes sense. Too bad it changed to such a fugly colour.

Brining back the neon in old neon paint

Yes, that's exactly the colour the yellow part of my Pro Comp XT has gone. Really ugly compared to the original neon yellow.

Brining back the neon in old neon paint

So I have an MS racing Pro Comp XT from 1989. In the original photos the bike was painted a combination of neon yellow and white - similar to the models from Alpinestars. Unfortunately the lovely neon yellow portions of the frame have turned a sade yellow orcher like colour. The paint job is in...

    Colnago Roger de Vlaminck

So I was offered a vintage de Vlaminck yesterday from a collector's collection. It was being sold as a Colnago. Never heard of the brand. It looks in very good condition. Its completely out of my budget, but this thread popped up when I googled it.

Selling up and leaving the hobby - Your failure experiences?

I think that's an old photo of Russ. While he's not as ancient as some of us here, he's no longer they young hipster travelling the world on his Long Haul Trucker or Bompton touring.

    Schwinn Traveler 1988

So I have a sad update. I decided to sell the bike and donate the proceeds back to the charity I volunteer at. I sold it to my daughter's boyfriend for $50. He really liked it, but unfortunately let a friend ride it. The friend crashed the bike, bent the frame and then laughed and didn't offer...

I wouldn't describe a bike with Sora on it as a BSO, but that's just me.

The Ultimate Ranking Bible of Accessories Brands

Interesting topic. I agree this is really subjective and has some strong regional variation. I'm from Vancouver so Syncros and Race Face are two hugely popular brands. Kooka on the other hand wasn't seen much around here. Ringle, Cook Bros. Racing, Nuke Proof, Thomson, Salsa are other brands...
