Bici Italiane - show us your Italian MTB’s, components catalogues etc

I think I posted a frontal view of this before - '85 Bianchi Grizzly - Sold off some years ago. It had the dreaded Suntour Mountech rear derailleur, that shifted perfectly, btw. Also, the very first set of wheels I built - 4 cross, even

    Today's Ride

After rebuilding the Stumpy, I had to take it for a ride - So we took it, and my wife's Cannondale, and drove up into Alabama, to ride some trails on the Troy university property. A lot of the trails were like this - Just a nice ramble through the woods. But there were also mazes of very tight...

    Rockshox SID XC Headset

I think we have a terminology issue - The "chamfered ring" IS the crown race, and is meant to be a drive fit at the base of the steerer. You have to drive it down flush with the top of the fork crown, to properly install the headset bearings. If it wasn't such a tight fit there, it would spin...

    Rockshox SID XC Headset

The bottom of the steerer tube is always larger diameter, just above the crown, to make the crown race a drive (press) fit. The crown race is supposed to get stuck there ;) Is that what you mean ?

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

This has become a most interesting thread. Does interest in bicycles generate such philosophical bent, or is it the other way around? 🤔

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

I lived in southern New England for many years - Small towns, semi-abandoned farmland, and extensive wooded areas. EVERYONE I knew had hit deer with their car, at least once - I did, a few times! This was usually at night, or early AM, and usually caused heavy damage to both deer and vehicle...
