    Today's Ride

Now Amy has moved on, this mornings conditions were 👌 Next to no wind, barely 2-5 mph NW. 10 degrees, rising to about 12. Clear skies, high cloud, another orange sunrise except it didn't rise till I got home. Was joined by 2 groups of bats en-route, in the sheltered spots. Legs were 👍

If commuting off-road, good, on-road, definitely think about something less precious! Also, whatever you do, make sure you get some frame protection around the seat-tube to prevent cable rub. I know through experience o_O

Kona Titanium Serial Number List - update 04/10/25

An exciting addition to the Kona custom serial number lists: titanium P2 forks! Big thanks to @sovereign for sharing this idea, and also thanks for this patience as I finally found sometime today to add them to this thread. This means we need to add some factual narrative about their...

Kona Hot Serial Number List - update 04/10/25

Great wall art though...to be fair, this is repairable in the right hands and if it were mine, it'd be ridden with zero regrets of any further scrapes and scratches. Did anyone here score it? I've updated the list: H09607080 - 16" 1997 Red, Goathead Dropouts. Original Decals. Top of seat-tube...

Kona Hot Serial Number List - update 04/10/25

Over on the Caldera thread, thanks to @murphy79 @TiHardtail we have the 1997 dealer tech sheet. What's that about 853 tubing? Errrr...we know that's not the case as well discussed here. It does add more evidence to the "Altitude were struggling" theory.

Kona Caldera Serial Number List - list updated 04/10/25

Well...also from the same tech details: This is contrary to the 853 decals which say main tubes only...🫠 So your theory is sound for sure and more evidence that Altitude were experiencing some issues!

Kona Caldera Serial Number List - list updated 04/10/25

Two cracking posts @murphy79 I'll add the dealer spec to the first post and also add it to the new website to-do pile (more on that another day). No bulge on mine or many of them, but I'll add it to the criteria as well. Still no idea what "Altitude Cromoly Heat-treated tubing" is. We might...

    Today's Ride

Almost identical conditions. Apparently 10 degrees but definitely much less, dipping to 5 in many spots. Clear skies, orange sunrise, pinks and yellows like a natural kaleidoscope. A very light 3-4mph S breeze resulted in amazing blankets of mist 👍

    Cheap Kona 2001 Dudu

An absolute tank but with some work it'll be a great bike park ripper on a budget.

The only tweak is using a different spring and/or adjusting the rebound with the basic adjuster. I highly recommend having it serviced by Silverfish if the budget allows. Be super careful with the stays. They are super slim and a weak point.
