Spotted on the street

Loving the Pug. Only cockroaches, scorpions and steel Peugeots will survive a nuclear holocaust
Why does everyone talk shite about Peugeot’s steel tubing? I’ve seen many a bike, younger than Peugeot’s, not survive being thrown to lie in the garden for a couple of years. But most Pugs come out relatively unscathed. 🤔

I may be using a rather loose definition of "street" here, but I love the looks of these two.

The street, BTW, is the SP 408 di Montevarchi in Gaiole in Chianti, and the bikes were part of the concorso d'eleganza at last months L'Eroica.

Bianchi Sport condorino-style city bike. Blue doesn't get any nicer than this, IMO:

A late, 1960's or maybe even '70's, Bartali. I really like frames built with with Brianza lugs :):

Vanni -

cannot recall seeing previously a cycle with this chrome/paint treatment on the taper tubes

interesting that the maker/restorer carried it out on blades and chainstays but not on seat stays...🤔

Vanni wears a frankish chainset, Verot, and gear ensemble, Huret

Eddie -

frame:

the bulge-formed head is Agrati pattern "EXPORT"

seat lug Agrati pattern "EXPORT"

both plate style bridges & pump pegs Agrati

dropouts Agrati N. 000.8002

fork ends Agrati N. 000.8010

from what can be seen of shell appears to be Agrati N. 022.8507

fittings:

chainset one of the fun "pickles" models
have not found an exact match in me files
here are some examples of "pickles" sets from the Emilio Bozzi catalogo of MCML:

Way-Assauto chainsets, Bozzi catalogue of 1950 .webp Magistroni chainsets, Bozzi catalogue of 1950 .webp Legnano marked chainsets, Bozzi catalogue 1950 .webp

makers included firms as as Fratelli Brivio (FB), Way-Assauto and Magistroni

mudguards and chainguard appear they may be prodotti from the manufacturer Mazzuchelli

welded condorino stem/bar set may be from Varese, Bianchi employed a lot of Ambrosio for this application as well...

rear lamp appears to be a model new to me. am unable to make out riveted nameplate on dynamo. wondering if it could be Slippery...

pedals appear they may be too late for machine
suspect originals may have been "too far gone" on "as found" cycle

Various catastrophic weather events across Australia in the last few days but here, today, the sun was shining and the wind had dropped to manageable levels. Did an early-afternoon spin out to a nice farming area to the east of town -- where I broke my ankle a couple of years ago -- for a bit of gravel shenanigans.

I spent a bit of time first cleaning the drivetrain, adjusting the shifting, and tightening the cones in the front wheel, so the Jake seemed to be spinning along particularly nicely and all went well. No wildlife to report, not one other cyclist, but all went well. Happy with that.
