Hi All . Could anyone help me identify this model. It must be a Stumpjumper as the frame is Prestige Direct Drive . Group is Xt and has the Future Shock fork . The confusion comes will the duel specialized logos and no Stumpjumper logo on the down tube . Is this maybe pre S-Works . Looking at the group it could be 91-92 . Maybe the forks where a later addition. I has a titanium specialized A-head stem . I had a specialized dealership a the time this would have been new but struggling to remember this model. Any help appreciated. Any details on servicing the fork . Oil weight and height compressed . I have just serviced a set of mag 21 and I am assuming they are similar.

Decals don't look original to me, and it looks to have parts from a mix of years from about '91 to '94/'95.
I'm struggling to match that colour of paint to a model too...
The frame number would give clarity on year.

Decals and logos are not original for the model or era - can you be sure this is even a Specialized?

1990 Team would have looked like this

The frame certainly looks like a specialized, but that's very likely a repaint, or certainly new decals. the current top & downtube decals are both too small & in the wrong placement

I have looked at the frame number 90J1117. I am sure it's a stumpy it definitely sounds like prestige tubing . It may have been resprayed at some point the group looks correct for the year if the 90 in the frame number is the year . But it has been upgraded at a few points in time.

I just want to say how much i enjoy this comment. My Norco is Prestige, hangs in my garage. My wife has told me she doesn't need to hear its tubes ring another time

It's the ring . Spent many a year tapping tubes on lots of nice bikes . Sold Stumpies out of you shop in the early 90s . I loved that time in bike development. Truly pioneering times .
