Wanted Lugged or fillet brazed Classic Steel medium bike/frame

narcotitlan

Rocky Mountain Fan
Got an itch for a a classic MTB, steel, nice and bright colour/s, medium size-ish, UK or Japanese. Late eighties/early 90s!

531 etc is nice!

135 rear dropouts would be on the wish list but probably rare from this era. Handmade in the UK would be nice! Doesn’t have to be immaculate but not mauled..

Whaddyagot?

Thanks!

This is my daily rider which I do roughly 100 miles per week on to give an idea of size. Short-ish top tube, long head tube. I love it - but it doesn’t quite inspire me to do weekend rides! Probably just associate it with the daily grind/rushing to work tbh. Therefore looking for something a bit special - UK 531 built etc.

I have an alx 990 iv been meaning to build for ages but never got round to it yet. It needs to be loved again

That’s certainly interesting! Thanks for posting - am I right that it’s bonded aluminium with steel lugs? Really just looking for steel, so I’ll pass.

I’ve got a 95/6 custom Fuquay that needs a touch of resto where the canti mounts have been removed and the end of the wishbone has a small rust issue. Augustbikes on here said it would be a cheap fix and it would build to a cool slice of UK bike history
