Giant MCM Team

😂 I could finish it this evening if I had the time to do so...
but finishing it to the spec I have planned however, that's a different story 😂

Yours is coming along nicely, doing a build thread for it?

Same here if I just wanted it "built" but it will be a bit of a slow process as I'm still deciding what kit I'm definitely going for.
I could do with a V brake brace for the judy xc really as I'm considering magura's.

I'm not very good at build threads, forget to take pictures, but as we are both doing mcm's I might give one a go 👍😎

The fork of choice has arrived, period / build correct Marzocchi XC600. Advertised as an XC500 and not working, but after a good clean up it’s in much better shape than described.
There is a very slight leak on one leg, and the stickers have had it, so it will still get a full overhaul at some point, but not yet. Came with 50% of a headset too, so somewhere out there is a frame with just the top and bottom cups…
One leg stamped 94, the other 95 🤔

Check the top air plugs under the plastic top caps. If you see corrosion it needs some special treatment. Also check stanchions.
But all in all this forks can be rebuild as it best and we have all parts & spares to do the job perfect - including stickers.

This is the bike missing from my collection. Especially in my Giant XC collection to match the XTC 800 XTC Team and FO.
But while the Tomac Yellow color is beautiful, I'm looking for it in the iconic yellow/red/purple colors.

Beautiful bike and a nice project.

Mine will arrive someday. I have the advantage that classic Giants aren't highly valued in Spain, not even the Cadex ones. Much less so are full carbon frames, so even though there are few, they're cheap.

@Dr-Zocchi I’ve got your rebuild kit book-marked, just no funds at present.

Stanchions are in lovely condition, one top plug is spotless, the other less so - what sort of special treatment do you mean? Perhaps I can pm you with some close up pics for your appraisal?

They don't seem to be expensive in any market.

As far as I can tell, an MCM Team frame like mine would have been £600 new back in '95.
