British Eagle K1 400 restoration

Hey everyone, new to RB!

I’ve got my dads old British eagle K1 400 I want to restore and upgrade abit, not all parts are original from what I can make out. Wondered if anyone knew any information on specs ect on them?

Little update - have gathered together most of the parts now to complete the build, have decided to upgrade the parts to deore and I’ve gone from black to silver components. I’m waiting on a front derailleur with the right clamp size.

I plan on going for yellow cables to match the decals and I think I’m going to go for the Schwalbe Billy bonkers tyres as the current tyres are totally shot. I’m currently restoring the stem and bars and giving them a respray, I’m on the hunt for some deore dx flat pedals for the build too.

All going well so far fingers crossed!

Been a while but the build is finally getting done! I got everything I needed and have been assembling this week!

Nearly there, new saddle, grips. Just waiting on the front cable hanger and it’s good to go!

Were they 2.1"?
How is clearance?

Thanks Darren, yeah 2.1” plenty of room. Wouldn’t want to go any bigger I don’t think. Served me well, done plenty of miles on the tyres, had very little wear.
