Sold Peugeot Competition CP10

Probably won't have much visibility now the item is sold but the definitive statements about postage costs are somewhat predictably, inaccurate.

Paisley Freight who was used in this case, advertise @ £42.99 for a bike. Entering the box dimensions and weight is highly likely to give a price below this, based upon all the varialbes I tried when quoting.
The weights I tried made zero difference to pricing, size of the package did have an effect. I ended up with a box rather longer than needed or desired, which bumped up the cost from what I'd expected to be a fraction under £30 to just over £36.
Those who said parcelforce 48 could be done for 20 quid were presumably discussing a kids bike. It was over 3 times that for the bike in this case.

I sent a bike as a 'large parcel' (up to 200cm length) on Parcelforce 48 for less than £15 two weeks ago.

Interesting. From what I can see on express 48:
  • Individual parcels can weigh up to 30kg
  • Parcels can be up to 1.5m in length and length and girth combined should not exceed more than 3m.
  • Larger items are welcome on our 2 day large delivery service.
Beyond this, dimensionally, means requires their 'large' service which starts@£46.90.

The box I had was over the 1.5m in length, though below the 2m you stated.

If you have definitive info, I and others, would be interested.

Well the bike arrived so I take that to be definitive. I see that since I used the service 2 weeks ago the limitations for a large parcel have changed, its now:

I swear it was 200cm length when I posted mine - which was 162x17x70. Anyway the bloke at the PO didn't bat an eyelid and it got there a day early. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to using RM/PF as I've used the wizard and seen £50 before to post the same size bike box.
