Hi Sue
It was lovely to meet you and chat about bicycles and Claud. Thank you for giving me such a beautiful bike. I will do the very best I can for you all, and of course Claud.
It's a strange colour, I'll need to thoroughly degrease the frame, than a careful oxyallic acid bath overnight. The steerer tube will give us the original colour hopefully.-----
...have very much enjoyed seeing this one; especially like the livery
on me screen it appears "parchment" but suspect that with lavandation it may become a light yellow
looking forward to following along...

I'll take some close ups tomorrow. It says Road track model-----
forgot to mention above -
t'is obvious from OP's images that headset is an Alatet but pictures do not give close view of upper stack
find meself a'wonderin' if it be the Thomas D. Cross & Sons Ltd edition or the Brampton Bros.
will be interested to hear when you have had opportunity to examine

there is a small brownish transfer at the front of the toptube which appears to read: "______ TRACK" Model (first word unreadable for me)
is another reader able to make it out?

Thanks Phil, nice of you to say so. Claud is a beautiful bike. I can't save the saddle sadly. But! Seat post and stem are not seizedI'm very pleased you got this GIGFY!! I'm really looking forward to seeing this one!
Plus, as a bonus, I found out the name of the headset on an old Holdsworth La Quelda that is sat in my resto queue!! It's the same as this Alatet.
They are nice bikes Phil, well worth your time.I'm very pleased you got this GIGFY!! I'm really looking forward to seeing this one!

Holdsworth claimed that the La Quelda was the first fillet brazed bike when it came out in the '30's (although that clearly isn't trueThey are nice bikes Phil, well worth your time.
I always thought the La Quelda was gas welded and dressed smooth? I could of course be talking out of my backsideHoldsworth claimed that the La Quelda was the first fillet brazed bike when it came out in the '30's (although that clearly isn't true) I need to practice my frame lining skills if I am going to do it justice
This Claud is gorgeous though - someone really looked after it.
