My sentiments echo the above hence the Guzzi this year. Had a few health issues ever since my mid 40s. The big C followed by the big CCU. More heart surgery last autumn so very aware of time well spent…

Meds have curtailed anything but meandering on bicycles so internal combustion is the way forward until they get too heavy.
Regards to all.

I hear that too Shedobits & History Man - I wish you both all the best healthwise too.

I found a pic of a coupld old special Ducatis I had previously - gone now also a few years back. The first one was a 1981 early Hailwood replica (a monsterous 900cc V-twin that was kick start only - I broke a toe on that kicking it over wearing trainers when it misfired and the starter pedal kicked-back) and the other was a special edition they made for the year 2000 - 900 Monster based with a nice body and Reynolds 531 trellis work single-sided rear swing arm. A lovely piece of work. One of only about 25 in the UK that one - they built 2000 worldwide for the millenium and most went to Japan, Europe and the US. All I have left from that photo now is the DUC plate on a DVLA certificate, but its unlikely I'll buy another one, they are a bit of a labour of love compared to Japanese bikes, even the much later 2017 Supersport 939 I had after those - clutch issues drove me mad with that for a new bike and I parted with that last year too

lovely old timers those - I rode the factory/museum in Bologna one year and that is a wonderful display of all the models from the past and examples of your bikes are certainly in their collection as they have pretty much one of every bike on display.

I've fancied a Guzzi for decades and after a couple of years looking at 1200 Sports, bought this last summer

Originally a 1976 850 Cali but subsequently fitted with a 1100 motor from around 1996, plus a few other mods. Good fun so far and free road tax :)
