Welcome to RBotM July 2025 - Open Month now open for entries.

First off apologies for the late kickoff as have family stuff to take care of the last three weeks and have not really been online. Apologies.

So with a late start means that you need to get yourself together quickly, take a couple of photographs of what you have been riding/building this time of the summer, get it uploaded and write a few descriptive sentences with a link to further information if available, a webpage, readers rides post etc. Make sure you own it and it's not for sale ;)

Entries close the end of the month with a five day poll then deciding the winner.

Sm@talites 1985 Hetchins Scorpion Bonum .
Possibly one of the last built by Jack Denny in Southend but as I bought it from an elderly gent in Leeds possibly a BJ build . I had it built up with date correct Victory but it jarred my eye so it's now Record mishmash . I'll swap the brakes and gear levers at some point.

Here's my 1983 Alan Richards (Tower Cycles). I originally built it up from a frame over various lockdowns – the thread for that is here. Among other notable features are a headbadge I had to custom design (with a bit of guess work required), and some brake levers which were once used by a Commonwealth Games gold-medal winner. It's my favourite bike to ride when the sun is out.

Great looking bike , love the colour .
ACG levers ?

Are those handlebar drops been shortened? they may have had an inch hackawed off? Or maybe just an illusion…….
Yes indeed, they have been shortened (not by me, that’s how they were when I got them. They’ve also been drilled for internal brake cabling).
