Today's Ride

Did what I consider to be a tough loop today(I've done it a few times), that feeling when all the climbing is done and it is a fast blast home is bloomin amazing 🥳
Only having one bike it has to do it all, me and bike really got a workout moving at speed across some very rough terrain. Almost hit 45mph on one section (I've been faster there on the Zaskar but that was a proper weapon with more gears). Had some real fun on the technical sections, these Suntour forks are rather heavy though and often I don't pull up enough when leaving the ground and sometimes come down front heavy. Didn't fall off today though like I usually do on those sections (mostly when there are lots of people to see me fail).

The climbs half bloomin killed me. This is the route I want to start with and then break off and do two of the loops I usually do to add to it which should be longest ride on this bike at around 25 miles I'd guess, I'l find out one day perhaps. Anyway, great ride even if some of it didn't feel like it at the time.

Bikes and puddles too? Since this is now private owned it is now only allowed to be filled up by rain water, the gully which used to feed into it was diverted.

Rode from home again this week, just under 40 miles, warm and fairly still today. Out in to the deepest fens, check out the elevation screenshot from the Garmin! Saw more cyclists out than I have for a long time. Must be the flat and quiet roads out this way. I don’t usually head this direction from home and usually head west towards some hills. Anyway, a mixture of riverside tracks and some quiet lanes, really nice ride.

Rode out to Sellingen through lovely countryside to deliver some posters. 75km round trip. Not as hot as the past few days, a bit of wind. Perfect weather for it.

@MattiThundrrr One of many patches of hemp being grown. Hemp was used for ages in sailing before it became known by its other purpose in the 20th century. In recent years a local company has started to produce floormats and other things and we see a lot of hemp being grown. The scent in the air when you ride past is unmistakable.

I think this is the best thread on the site.

Motivation and inspiration, I wasn't planning on a ride tomorrow, but now I'm going on a ride tomorrow..
Interesting bikes of all ages from all disciplines.
Amazing pictures of all kinds of scenes we'd never get to experience otherwise.

It's all the reasons why I love bikes concentrated in one place.
