Retro/'old skool' skateboards - anybody got any....??

10+ years ago I was living my best London hipster life, using a longboard to cruise around in achingly cool fashion (or so I thought). I even rode Critical Mass a few times on them!
My right thigh muscle is still slightly larger than the left from all those miles.

I know these aren't totally vintage but I think you'll enjoy; here are a few of my boards;



Classic pintail I sanded back to bare wood and sprayed the stripes on the bottom. Gave it to my housemate when I moved out, I hope she still rides it!





Solid downhill board, Voodoo Doll D2. I drew and lasercut the griptape design, then didn't want to wreck it so it still looks sharp in the corner of the garage!





This is my most ridden board, a Lush Elevator. Again I stripped back the bottom and sprayed the stripes and logo. The arrow tape I also drew and lasercut. This was when I'd just finished it - now it looks absolutely hammered. Will pull it out and take a '10 years on' picture!

11 years on!

I upgraded to some larger dia wheels and better trucks after a while. So many miles on this thing.

I have somewhere a purple Schmitt Stick Ripsaw. I also own silver OG Powell Caballero, I bought ten+ years ago to replace a bonite Full Cab that I loved and pretty much destroyed during the 80s.

I had the cab half dragon on Indys and Bullet 66 Speedwheels. Still kicking myself for letting that one go, but the trucks and wheels still might be around somewhere, think I might have put them on a board for her to ride in the 90s...
I got a Bones repop, was hoping to use them there, but the baseplate was wrong standard, so it decorates my workshop

Off on a tangent - the maritime museum (Falmouth) has a good exhibition on surfing in Cornwall - lots of cool retro board designs. For some reason this was the only pic I took. RETRO TAT
