1993 Condor Professional 653 (Dave Yates built)

Pure class 👌 absolutely top restoration job on this and have really enjoyed following this thread @sjcprojects. 👍
Thanks, I really appreciate that. Like I mentioned, it would have been trickier without your help with the decal sizes. I’m glad I did include the fork decals in the end, it does seem appropriate for a ‘racy’ looking bike like this one.

Fantastic story and lovely bike, thanks for sharing.
I have a 1980’s Condor which I will get round to restoring soon. It’s genuine, with pantographing everywhere, but has no frame number which baffled the staff at Condor when I contacted them for build details!
FWIW, those Campagnolo triple mechs are worth their weight in gold if you are like me and want individualised gearing. Unlike most Shimano stuff they are not fussy about chainring sizes and combinations. I’ve used Campag triple mechs on double and triple bikes - even with Shimano shifters - and they are perfectly happy.

Thanks! A Condor without a frame number is definitely odd, but of course these things do happen. I had an early Orbit which had no frame number at all, but it was 100% an Orbit. The good thing about the nicer Condors is that there's no mistaking them due to those pantographs. I just checked and unfortunately the few Condor catalogues that were online aren't there any more, I think they did have some 80s ones up before which might have helped a bit.

The triple FD does work well with the compact double due to the amount of trim available with the shifters, and also I guess because it has pretty wide cage. I did drop the chain once on my last ride, but hopefully I just need to screw the low limit screw right in to avoid that. I have also picked up a Centaur one that is designed to work with standard and compact doubles, so that's my final backup plan (it's not as nice and shiny as the Daytona triple so I'll only use it if I really have to).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your Condor when you start a thread for that. 👍
