Been doing a loft clearance at my parents and came across on old calendar which me and my mate scribbled race results on.

Saturday February 8th 1992 is marked with 'Got Marin!', so that stacks up nicely with my memory of getting the bike early in '92

Specialist bike painters weren’t interested in doing anything to a polished ali frame, so I took it to metal polishers who used various belt sanders.
It’s not the best job - they didn’t get right in to all the small spaces, so I was a little let down to be honest. Apparently the lacquer was very hard to remove so I am glad I didn’t tackle it by hand however.

I currently taking the laquet off by hand on one and it's been the hardest to get off ok I only done 3 bikes may be it's a stronger or something but it's a big difference compared to an orange p7 day wonderful job though mate were did you get them x elite gear hangers from cheers

Brave job tackling it by hand from what I've heard.
Shifter pod hangers would have been bought from here or ebay. They don't come up too often.

Ok mate cheers by hand I mean using a sander and it's still a nightmare cause you have to do the bits were you can't get to by hand ye I never seen another set
