Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

I listed a bunch of stuff at the weekend and didn't see the custom postage option, will look more closely next time to see if it's still there for me.

The thing that irks me the most at the moment is the buyer protection fee, as it's making it hard for items to be listed at an appealing price, say £10 for instance - instead it'll show as £11.42 or something daft.

Also if an item is listed with offers, then the buyers mindset goes to "I only want to pay £10 INCLUDING the buyer protection fee, so they make an adjusted offer of £8.62 or something to get to that number. You receive notification of an offer for £10 but in reality you're only getting £8.62.

I get that its no different to having seller fees previously, but at least with that system you could quite easily work out what you'd actually receive.

I used to offer free postage a fair amount, but now as buyers are knocking sellers in order to cover the buyer fee, then I'm charging for postage.

So, continuing on from post 270, postman Pat arrived earlier to deliver one package and collect 2 others. He didn't realise he was collecting until I asked him to look on his thingymajig, which confirmed he was.
He didn't have labels despite what eBay said, so the 'simplest' solution for me now is to just get a printer, or a £40+ cartridge for the one I've already got.
This entire system is a poor solution to a problem that didn't exist.

You can see the fee which the buyer is charged when you are pricing so you can adjust your figure down/up to make the total a nice round number should you wish.

I must just be unlucky, I've given them everything they asked of me. As soon as an item sells it appears on click and drop, but without the complete address. At that point I'm stuck - if I agree to the label purchase on eBay, nothing changes on click and drop, I can't process the order without paying for it on click and drop website. That doesn't relay back to eBay so then they have no idea whether or not I've posted it as there's then 2 tracking numbers per parcel, each website only recognise their own number. On top of that eBay won't give a buyers address out without the purchase of their label. So you have to have both, unless you just want eBay's where you then have to print your own label and take to the post office. Where you then have to pay the extra fee for using a non-post office (tracked 48 that eBay make you use) service. As for integration, Royal Mail can't even integrate my details across its own two websites.
This is going nowhere for me, I'll stick it out for a few more weeks and see what changes come but until then it's just going round in circles.

Click and drop announced that it wouldn’t be working for private sellers any longer if you are referring to the business version which integrates to eBay.

Makes sense as if you are a private seller then there isn’t any logical reason for you to need bulk postage. Can’t have it both ways.

Just to clarify When you are creating the listing as a private seller , you don’t have the option to select custom postage rather than simple delivery?

I don't want it both ways, or a business way, or integrated at all, just the way I've done it for years.
As for listing, custom postage option has gone except when listing bulky items.

You don't need a business account with RM to use click and drop, anyone can use it for as little or as much as you like, I had a business and private eBay account set up concurrently to integrate with C&D. As a private seller on eBay you can list up to 300 things a month, sounds like bulk to me.

it worked on something I sold via my private account a few days ago, lets see what happens....
