Is this a real GT frame?

Jurelle

Retro Newbie
I found this on marketplace for a good price. The seller said its a vintage GT Avalanche but when I searched by image it said that it was a vintage Talera, I would just like to know if this frame is legit or not, I'm currently waiting for the seller to send a serial no.
(Ignore the fork)

Serial number is your best friend on this one.

It does look like a real GT.... given the shocks it may be an Avalanche....

Is it worth buying?
That depends on a few things;
If it's a quid, maybe. If it's a hundred quid, probably not.
If you want an entry to mid level steel frame to build a bike you can abandon at a train station every day maybe, if you don't, probably not.
If the seat is worth more than what it's for sale for and the frame will fit in your wheelie bin maybe, if it's taken from a Sports Direct Muddyfox then probably not.
Find out what the seat is and how much he wants for it.

Is it worth buying?
How longs a piece of string?

I picked up a 2008ish avalanche and turned it into a gravel 🤢 bike. For me it was worth it.

Other opinions may differ and its your call.

Thanks, 👍
Might be a good try.
