I picked up this “well used “ 96 Avalanche off FB Marketplace last weekend for the grand total of Ten pounds!
Full LX, Mavic 221’s in gold, Ritchey Megabytes…
Should clean up not too bad I think and I’ll use it as a shop/pub hack.

So….. I seem to be getting slightly carried away with this now. Only intended to clean it up a bit and get it working well enough for a pub/shop bike!

'99 Karakoram, last of the old school steel. Some modernish parts on it.

NOS 9 speed cassette picked up from a nice chap (cant remember your name sorry) at the recent "Retro Bike Show & Bike Jumble". Good event, thanks Scant!

This 1992 Karakoram ended up in my shed yesterday. A mate wants to sell it and has asked me to take over the sale.

I'm torn as to whether I should take it or not.



It's pretty hard used but still a very nice bike.
True Temper, U brake, groove tube, flip flop stem, bologna cut forks and tequila sunrise paintjob what's not to like?
He even has a matching black Araya CV-7 wheelset...dammit!

It all looks pretty original!

I have the all black version from '92 that was the alternative colour. There is something great and fun about the way it rides, probably the TrueTemper GTX frame, if you have room, I'd say take it and ride it for a while and see if you like it .

This is almost finished now. Late 80s i think, raw lacquer single/cruiser bmx type thing. Deerhead front cantis, deore u rear, 400 cranks, posh gold chain, gt mallet stem, etc. matching rear mavic turned up yesterday so once that’s on it’s pretty much done. I bought it early 90s as a hand painted junker for 70 quid and had it ever since. Love it. I could do a full build thread when it’s finished.
