Giant MCM Carbon - Info Needed

Retro Newbie
Hey guys!

I need your retro genius - does anyone remember if the Giant MCM Team Carbon bikes (circa 1999/2000) were actually raced professionally by a team or a rider? I've purchased myself one of these and I'm wondering if i can find period-correct(ish) clothing to ride it during an event.

Here's what it looked like: https://mbaction.com/giant-mcm-team/

Thanks :)

Hello. Maybe your post is out of date now but I bought a Giant MCM fully stock with the original rims just 4days ago. I have during many years buildt 6 full custom bikes like Gary Fisher, GT and a few other brands. Using parts like Rock forks mavic 3-X wheels and Truativ crank plus various XT and XTR systems. My impression allthough this is an "old" bike is.. I'm really impressed! The overall state of my bike is it is almost unused. No scratchs or marks on the frame. Everything is 100% original and in my opinion this is a fantastic piece of old/new tech well worth concidering. My last bike was a fully customized GT with all the trimmings and in parts I estimated the value to around 55.000Nkr (around 5.500USD). The feeling of the MCM is better. It's just a better bike! It needs a little service but that won't be a problem. At least for me. My point is I do have a new front shock, I do have XTR parts and rims from Mavic that probably alone is worth more but this time I choose to keep it stock. There is no point in trying to improve anything. As people mention when trying to change parts the run into all kinds of problems like fitting issues or needing custom brackets to put on larger break discs and so on. It's just not worth the time and effort. The Only thing I can set my finger on is the steering handle. It feels a bit too sensitive due to my overall shoulderwith and bodylength. I might have to look into this or simply get used to it. Here is a picture taken yesterday after wiping it clean of dust and old grease. To my eyes it's downright beautiful and I payed 4900Nkr/490USD with shipping. I love it and won't change a thing! 1000026146.webp
