I would be stuck on clear coat. Raw looks so good!

But wouldn't provide any real long term protection, rust would start to form underneath unless it's babied indoors in warm conditions. If he wants it to get a bit grungy over time then sure that's the way to go. Personally I'd let it go crusty with a good old BLO massage and internal rust inhibitor from time to time. Rust spiders look cool anyway

My Mountain Goat Route 66. I think it is a ‘94. Currently raw. Thinking about paint options.

Is the down tube welded to the head tube but the top tube brazed? Was this repaired at some point or is this the way it was made by MG?

I do have about 3 or 4 of them ...I will see that I finish and re-build them as fast as I can and post some pics here.

Seems like they were maybe only offered stock on the first generation Mooto YBB? One of the only honest to goodness 29ers still using rim brakes

The 700c Manitou looks good, especially mounted at one of the bikes we're talking in this thread...

There is a DB Overdrive in Germany with it, in combination with 2.1 MTB tires a real old 29er...

Hallo, mir wurde eine Manitou answer ( glaube 700c) Gabel angeboten... Nun die Frage: Verkäufer meint die könnte für 28zoll sein. Gabs das denn überhaupt mit 28zoll ? Federung geht nicht mehr. Gibt ja einige kits oder „Bastel Anleitungen“ wie man die wieder fahren kann hätte ich gelesen...

The Manitou 700c has 2 model years. Model 1 is 1993 (internal loaded) like the Manitou 2 and M Sport.

Bit later there was one more updated variation which was top loaded (like M3, M4, M COMP etc) and got these horrible and making it super cheapo looking red/black plastic dials on the stanchion like the Manitou Mach 5 for example.
